Painted in Light Event
In 2017, Portland-based experiential designer Craig Winslow brought his Light Capsules north of the border to help shine a light on Winnipeg’s collection. The one-night-only event called Painted in Light merged archival research with large-scale projection mapping to bring five faded ads back to life.
Writing on the Wall Documentary
In 2018, Handcraft Creative celebrated Winnipeg’s collection of fading ads as part of their documentary Writing on the Wall. The 30-minute film covers the craft of advertising, art of sign painting and science of digital restoration.

Stobart Installation
Launching in June 2022, Craig Winslow and Matt Cohen have partnered again to turn their Stobart Light Capsule from Painted in Light into a permanent, non-invasive heritage installation.
